Renew Counselling and Training

How we're

In England, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year.

Now more than ever, the work of mental health and counselling charities like Renew plays an essential role in supporting people in our community. Our counselling services offer mental health support to those who need it, while our work in training and supervision helps to ensure that counsellors are working to the highest standards, with new counsellors joining the profession every year through our courses.

We are able to carry out this important work thanks to the funding that we receive from a range of sources, including:

  • Donations from individuals, businesses and organisations
  • Client contributions towards counselling
  • Funding from local authorities, charitable trusts and local and national organisations
  • Fundraising activities from local businesses, individuals and local community groups
  • Legacies left by individuals

Subsidised counselling sessions

Each session of counselling that we provide costs us £48, but we are often able to offer low-cost counselling through subsidised bursary places, thanks to the funding that we receive.

When a client gets in touch with us to book an initial assessment, we are able to discuss the current funding available and ascertain their eligibility. Where there is no funding available, we work with clients to determine what level of support they may need from us in order to cover the costs of counselling.

Below, we list some of the funding available:

Counselling for young people in Basildon

Funded by Basildon and Brentwood CCG

Re-ed: Counselling for those struggling with their relationship with food

Fifxtra: online support for the families of Essex
