Following a work background in administration and quality system management, I retrained first as a lecturer in Adult and Further Education, then as a therapeutic counsellor around twenty years ago. To complement my training, I looked for administrative work in third sector counselling organisations and happily found a part-time post at Renew (then WHCM). I enjoyed being involved in the running of the busy practice at the Sycamore Centre for two years before moving into student support and teaching counselling in Adult Community Learning and Further Education, as well as developing my private counselling practice.
Ten years later I was lucky enough to return to Renew as a lecturer on the Diploma of Higher Education and spent six years on the Training Team, helping to re-develop the Diploma, and to collaborate in writing and delivering the BA Top-Up course. I worked for the Sycamore Centre as a counsellor and supervisor during that time, alongside my IAPT work as a PCE Counselling for Depression practitioner.

2021 has given me the opportunity to return to Renew for a third time, to the Training Programme Lead role. I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team to develop existing courses as well as innovating new ones, and to contributing to the organisation more widely as a member of the Senior Management Team.
