Counsellor, Eating Disorders
I qualified as a counsellor in 2012 in Anglia Ruskin University and went on to working at Mind. I joined RENEW COUNSELLING in 2015 and started working on the eating disorder service Re-ed. I work in an integrative way, which means that I adapt my approach ( CBT, Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt to name a few), to fit the client’s needs and what they wish to change . I believe in the therapeutic value of having a safe space to work towards recovery and end the distress and suffering that people with eating disorders experience. This is also the reason why validation and acceptance of emotions, too often dismissed and disregarded, are at the heart of my practice. With the Re-ed service, Renew is one of the only charity offering affordable eating disorder counselling in the area which makes it a very special place to work in.
